If you originally signed up for Cape as a secondary line—maybe to test us out or to use as a separate work number—and you’ve now decided you want to bring your primary number over to Cape, follow these steps:
Step 1: Cancel Your Current Cape Account
To start fresh and port in your primary number, you’ll first need to cancel your existing Cape account:
- Open the Cape app
- Tap the Account tab
- Select My Profile
-
Tap Cancel Account
Note: You’ll retain access to your existing Cape number until the end of your current billing cycle.
Step 2: Delete the Cape App
After canceling your account, delete the Cape app from your device. This ensures you’ll be able to return to the initial sign-up flow in the next step.
Step 3: Reinstall the Cape App
Download the Cape app again from the App Store or Google Play Store. This brings you back to the original onboarding screen.
Step 4: Sign Up and Select to Port Your Number
Go through the sign-up process as usual. This time, when prompted, select the option to port in your number.
Step 5: Complete the Port-In Process
Follow the on-screen instructions to port your number. You’ll need information from your current carrier (account number, PIN, etc.)
