This article will help you find the Account Number and PIN needed for porting out from many major carriers operating in the US. Before you transfer your number from your previous carrier to Cape, please make sure that you have contacted your previous carrier and have retrieved the Account Number and PIN for your line. This information is unique to every number and carrier, so you'll need to get in touch with your previous carrier for the exact details.
Note: Please ensure that the number you are porting over is a US-based number and that you have turned off port out protection on your carrier account. If you have port out protection turned on, your transfer may be automatically denied by your carrier.

Turn off Port Out Protection
To turn off port-out protection, you generally need to log in to your mobile carrier's app or website, navigate to your account's security settings, and disable the feature (alternatively you can call).
This feature is often called "Number Lock," "Port Freeze," or "Port Out Protection." Disabling it is a necessary step before you can transfer (port) your phone number to a new carrier.
Because the exact steps differ by carrier, here are the instructions for major providers:
T-Mobile
T-Mobile calls this feature "Port Out Protection."
Via the T-Life App (or T-Mobile.com):
Log in as the Primary Account Holder.
Go to "Account" > "Profile Settings."
Select "Line Details" and choose the phone number you want to port.
Go to "Protection" and select "Port Out Protection."
Toggle the feature Off.
Verizon
Verizon calls this feature "Number Lock."
Via the My Verizon App (or Verizon.com):
Log in to your account.
Navigate to the "Account" tab, then "Account Settings."
Select "Security" and find "Number Lock."
Select the line you wish to port and toggle Number Lock to "Off."
After this, you must get a Number Transfer PIN. You can do this by dialing *#PORT (*7678) from your phone, and Verizon will text you a link to generate the PIN.
AT&T
AT&T's system is primarily based on a "Number Transfer PIN." However, you may also have a "Wireless Account Lock" enabled that must be turned off first.
To Turn Off Wireless Account Lock (if active):
Log in to the myAT&T app.
Go to your profile, then "Settings" > "Security."
Find "Wireless Account Lock" and turn it Off.
To Get Your Number Transfer PIN:
While logged in to your myAT&T account (app or website), go to your "Profile."
Select "People & Permissions."
Choose the wireless account and scroll to "Transfer phone number."
Select "Request a new PIN" and follow the prompts. You can also dial *PORT (*7678) from your AT&T phone.
