We officially support hotspot on iOS. Hotspot on Android has not been thoroughly tested and may not work consistently. Official Android compatibility for specific devices is listed in the Android section below.
To enable hotspot, ensure your APN settings are correctly configured. Refer to the APN Configuration Guide and follow the instructions based on your device type. If APN settings are not configured properly, the hotspot option will not appear.
For iOS
Ensure the Personal Hotspot APN setting is correctly entered. Once configured, the Personal Hotspot option will appear in Cellular Settings.
To Verify Settings:
-
Go to Settings → Cellular → Select your Cape eSIM → Cellular Data Network.
-
Confirm the correct APN under the Personal Hotspot category.
-
If you enter or update any settings, restart your device.
For Dual SIM Users:
-
Go to Settings → Cellular → Cellular Data and ensure Cape is selected.
-
Return to Settings → Cellular. You should now see the Personal Hotspot option.
For Android
-
Ensure your APN settings are correctly configured. Unlike iOS, Android does not have a specific Personal Hotspot APN setting.
-
If your APN settings are properly entered, the hotspot feature should work.
Note:
-
Hotspot functionality may not work on all Android devices. Testing and official support for Android hotspot compatibility are ongoing. So far we have confirmed hotspot is working on the the following Android devices:
- Google Pixel (Android and GrapheneOS)
- Samsung Galaxy S22
