Cape does not currently support setting up call forwarding through your phone's settings menu, you must activate and deactivate it using star codes. This method works by dialing special star codes directly from your phone’s keypad.
How to Turn On Call Forwarding
To forward all incoming calls to another number:

Open your device's phone app.

Dial *72 followed immediately by the 10-digit phone number you want to forward calls to.

Example: To forward calls from your Cape number to 123-456-7890, dial *721234567890.

Press Call.
Note: If the call connects and then ends silently, with no confirmation or error message, this means call forwarding has been successfully activated.
Once activated, all incoming calls will be immediately forwarded to the number you entered regardless of your phone's status, without ringing on your Cape device.
How to Turn Off Call Forwarding
To stop forwarding your Cape calls to another number:

Open your device's phone app.

Dial *73

You do not need to enter a phone number after *73.

- Press Call.
Note: If the call connects and then ends silently, with no confirmation or error message, this means call forwarding has been successfully turned off.
Once turned off, incoming calls to your Cape number will now ring on your phone as usual.
Call Forwarding and Voicemail
The different scenarios below describe the voicemail behavior depending on whether voicemail is enabled on your account and whether a call forwarding is turned on.
If Cape encrypted voicemail is turned ON
- And Call Forwarding is off
- All unanswered calls are automatically sent to Cape voicemail.
- And Call Forwarding is on
- Calls will be immediately forwarded to the number you entered (called the FTN or Forward to Number). If the call is not answered, it would be sent to the voicemail of the FTN if voicemail is active for the FTN.
If Cape encrypted voicemail is turned OFF
- And Call Forwarding is off
- All unanswered calls will get an error announcement
- And Call Forwarding is on
- Calls will be immediately forwarded to the number you entered (called the FTN or Forward to Number). If the call is not answered, it would be sent to the voicemail of the FTN if voicemail is active for the FTN.
