If you're having trouble connecting to 5G, it may be due to one of the following reasons:
Possible Causes
-
No 5G Signal in Your Area: Your location may not have 5G coverage.
-
5G May Not Be Enabled on Your Device: 5G might be turned off in your phone settings.
Things to Try
Check for 5G Coverage
- Use the Cape or UScellular coverage map to verify if 5G is available in your area.
-
If 5G isn’t available, your device will automatically switch to LTE or another available network.

- Go to Settings → Cellular → Cape → Voice & Data.
- Depending on your eSIM configuration it may also be: Settings → Cellular → Cape → Cellular Data Options
- Make sure that "5G Auto" is selected.
For Android Users:
- Go to Settings → Network & Internet → SIMs → Cape → Preferred Network Type.
- Ensure "5G" is selected.
Note: Android settings may vary by device. Look for similar options if needed.
Toggle Your Cape Line Off and On
Sometimes, refreshing the connection by toggling the Cape line off and back on can resolve issues.

- Go to Settings → Cellular → Select your Cape line
- Toggle Turn On This Line off, then back on.
For Android Users:
- Go to Settings → Network & Internet → SIMs → Cape
